Zuzanna Sosnowska is one of the most promising polish cellists of her generation. She is the winner of the X International W. Lutosławski Cello Competition in Warsaw in 2015 (1st Prize ex aequo) as well as laureat of many prizes at international music competitions in  Poland, Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Spain, Chile and Canada. Her last achievements are:3. Prize at B. Mazzacurati International Cello Competition in Torino (2019) and 3.Prize (1. not awarded) at International Music Competition A. Aponte on Tenerife (2021).

​Born in 1993 in Bialystok, Poland, she started playing cello at the age of 7. In 2018 she finished her Bachelor and Master Studies at Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar with prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. In 2021 she got her second master degree at Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid in prof. Jens Peter Maintz‘s and Fernando Arias‘s class.

 ​Zuzanna has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and a member of the „Ensemble Esperanza” in Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Norway, Namibia, and Canada. Since 2017 she colaborates with spanish pianist Magí Garcías as a Duo Sosnowska-Garcías. This ensemble was awarded 1. Prize ex-aequo at „Salieri – Zinetti“ Chamber Music Competition in Werona in 2019. She regurarly performs with leading polish orchestras as well as abroad : with the National Orchestra of Poland in Warsaw, the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, AUKSO Orchestra, the Orchestra of European Music Centre in Bialystok (Poland), the Youth Polish Philharmony, the Young Orchester in Kiel (Germany), the Pforzheim Philharmonic (Germany), Metamorphosen  Berlin and Orchestra Cambra de Mallorca, among others. She played under the baton of maestro A. Wit, T. Strugała, M. Moś, A. Humala, J.M.Zarzycki  and A. Klocek, among others. As active chamber musician she has been invited to play at such festivals as „Clasclas Festival“ in Spain , „Krzyżowa Music“, and „Basso Biennale of Deep Sounds“ in Poland  as well as „Thy Chamber Music Festival” in Denmark, „Music Connects“ in Switzerland, „Goslar-Harz Music Fest“ in Germany, „Alpenarte” Festival in Austria among others.She had the possibility to share the stage with such distinguished musicians as V. Kholodenko, M.P. Langlamet, S. Kim, A. Meneses, R. Krüger, A.Noras, A. Bielow or C. Trautmann.

​ In 2018 Zuzanna made her first recording commisioned by Polish Radio. Together with National Orchestra of Polish Radio in Katowice under maestro Bassem Akiki she recorded I. Cello Concerto by G. Bacewicz. Her concerts where also broadcasted in Radio National España. 

​Zuzanna has received the Scholarship of Polish Minister of Culture and Art Department and the Polish Prime Minister’s Scholarship.  She got also honoured with Deutschland Stipendium and Charlotte Krupp Stipendium in Germany. As a chamber musician Zuzanna was scholar of „Villa Musica” and „Live Music Now” program. Since 2014 she has been a scholarship recipient at the International Music Academy in the Principality of Liechtenstein and has been participating intensively in the activities of the Academy. In 2015 she was awarded Charlotte Krupp Stipendium from New Liszt Foundation. In 2019 and 2020 she got honoured with special prize of Queen Sofia of Spain from Her Majesty.

Zuzanna Sosnowska is a remarkable and outstanding cellist and musician. Their playing is always characterized by a very personal, exciting interpretation, her creativity is based on a masterful technique, a beautiful and intense sound,as well as a certain sense of style. In my opinion, Zuzanna Sosnowska is an absolute talent. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt
